Our Proprietary Comminution System
Way back in January, Sepro entered Natural Resources Canada’s Crush It! Challenge. The mission (which we of course chose to accept) was to develop a new, clean technology solution that could transform how energy is used for crushing and grinding rocks in the mining industry.
We partnered with industry experts like Erin Bobicki to develop a microwave-assisted comminution and sorting project for energy reduction in mineral processing. With this incredible system, we’ve seen energy savings of up to 70% in comminution circuits.
In May, we found out that we were one of the top six finalists! The grand prize of a $5 million grant will be awarded in 2021, so we still have some work to do.
Learn more about this mineral processing technology in one of our past blogs.
Have you read our most popular blog from 2019?
We scoured our records to bring back your favourite blog of the year. If you’re in the gold recovery business, this one’s for you. It’s all about choosing the right recovery process depending on the type of gold deposit you’re working with. It’s got some science, some flowcharts, and a pretty sweet infographic, so check it out and you might learn a thing or two. If you have any questions about the equipment, feel free to get in contact with Sepro Minerals. Here’s a preview of our infographic, or view the whole mineral processing infographic.
Last but not least, do you like our most popular photo of 2019?
With a close connection to UBC, it’s no wonder why our most popular photo is of a UBC grad!
