The team at Sepro Mineral Systems traded in their concentrators for clubs last month as they took part in the annual Balls of Steel golf tournament. The event, held at Greenacres Golf Course and hosted by Gerry Stafford, is always a crowd favourite among mineral processing and mining companies. It provides an opportunity to meet new people, connect with old friends, and win some great prizes.

At the tournament, Sepro sponsored a “closest to the pin” contest on hole 17. In came Maurice Tagami of Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. who shot incredibly close to the cup on the beautiful par 3. Maurice walked away with a wonderful craft beer gift set for his efforts.

Earlier on in the course, Canamix (a division of Sepro Mineral Systems) sponsored a “closest to the pin” challenge as well. This one had the closest shooter of each foursome on hole 15 walk away with a bottle of wine and also gave a very special bottle to the overall farthest from the pin duffer.

Sepro’s very own Isaac Herscovitch came in 3rd, with an overall score of 74.5. Isaac was also lucky enough to win the raffle draw’s grand prize of a 500 piece tool kit. Congratulations, Isaac!

The Balls of Steel golf tournament started in the 90s, among metallurgists in BC and has grown to include people all over the mineral processing industry. A big thank you goes out to Gerry Stafford, who organizes and runs the tournament every year. We had a great time Gerry! Thank you for your efforts.

And last, but certainly not least, a special thank you goes out to Julie Heather Photography who took all the incredible photos you see here. Thank you, Julie!
